The lavender garden of the Prónay Castle, with its 800 plants, is open for a lavender harvest at the end of June and beginning of July.

On the 21st and 22nd of September 2024, we warmly welcome those curious guests, who can taste not only the special historical secrets of the hidden little village of Nógrád county, but also the book titled "Vendégségben Mikszáth Kálmánnál (A visit with Kálmán Mikszáth)" in a round table discussion, and the recipes based on the book at the Palóc Sunday Lunch.
The programs are free of charge (the Palóc Sunday Lunch is available for a fee, with a table reservation).

The VI. Alsópetény Truffle and Lagotto Festival will be held this year on October 20.
Visitors can compete in the truffle hunting dog competition, taste our chef's truffle specialties, participate in mushroom-related lectures and spend a whole day in the castle garden, resplendent in beautiful autumn colors.
At the events of the Prónay wine dinner, participants can taste items from various domestic wineries, our chef István Oláh with its food specialties.
Walking through the buildings and the park of the castle, we visit the historic buildings and tell stories about the life of the noble families who lived in the castle.
