Nearly a thousand guests attended the Stylish Rural Brunch Festival in Alsópetény
At the end of April, the park of Prónay Castle was once again filled with life. Organized by the Tourism Association for Stylish Rural Hotels (SVSZ), nearly a thousand guests arrived in Alsópetény for the Stylish Rural Brunch Festival. They came to spend a day enjoying breakfast together with rural hotels, chefs, and producers from across the country.
The uniqueness of the festival perhaps lies in the fact that here, breakfast is not just a buffet or a standard hotel service. It is, more importantly, an encounter. A slower morning, a great cup of coffee, freshly baked pastries, local ingredients, conversations, and the kind of hospitality that makes people return to rural hotels time and time again.
The initial windy weather did not dampen the guests’ spirits. The castle park was soon filled with blankets, a picnic atmosphere, specialty coffee, sparkling wine, and, of course, brunch. Throughout the day, SVSZ member hotels from various parts of the country showcased their own “breakfast worlds”—from the Őrség region to Villány, and from Lake Balaton to Nógrád.
For Prónay Castle, as the host venue, it was a particular pleasure to see how open people are to a more personal, human-centered form of hospitality. Rural tourism is often not about grand gestures, but about the small details—a well-prepared breakfast, a friendly conversation, or that simple feeling of how good it is to slow down for a while.
