Cultural Heritage Days

Date: September 21-22, 2024

Place: Alsópetény, Prónay Castle, Rózsavilág - the first rose experience house in Hungary

This year, the Municipality of Alsópetény together with Prónay Castle and Rózsavilág join the European Heritage Days series of events launched by the Council of Europe in 1991 and introduced in Hungary in 1999. The renovation of the Prónay Castle in Alsópetény took into account monument protection aspects and was carried out after thorough research, thereby uncovering the almost forgotten historical treasures of the Palóc region.

On the third weekend of September 2024, we warmly welcome those curious guests, who can taste not only the special historical secrets of the hidden little village of Nógrád county, but also the book titled "Vendégségben Mikszáth Kálmánnál (A visit with Kálmán Mikszáth)" in a round table discussion, and the recipes based on the book at the Palóc Sunday Lunch.

Nóra Elekes-Vécsei, editor-in-chief of Vidéki Élet Magazin (Rural Life Magazine), talks to the authors of the book, Éva Pásztor, Zsófia Nagy.
