Truffle hunting with trained dogs in the forests of the Cserhát Hills
Hungary is one of Europe’s most suitable habitats for summer truffles, and the forests of the Cserhát region are particularly rich in this rare and valuable fungus.
During the program, participants join an experienced guide and trained dogs on a truffle-hunting expedition. Guests learn about the history of truffles, their culinary use, and how these hidden treasures are located underground.
This experience is both a nature-based adventure and a gastronomic journey, available almost year-round in the forests surrounding the castle. The tour also offers insight into traditional truffle foraging practices. Any truffles found during the experience are highly valued in gastronomy.
